Emergency cover for live apps

Your app runs your business. Nothing is protecting it.

You insure the car. You insure the shop. The app your customers actually order through has nothing behind it.

Then something breaks on a Friday, and you're posting on forums asking if anyone can help, or paying whatever an emergency developer decides to charge that day.

How it works

Pay once a year. Most years, nothing happens.

When something does go wrong, it's covered. No emergency quote, no negotiation, no waiting while you find someone who understands your app.

What counts as an emergency

  • Your app goes down
  • It's removed or suspended from the App Store or Google Play
  • Payments stop working
  • Logins stop working
  • A key integration fails
  • You're locked out of your own accounts
  • Data loss or a security problem

Not covered: new features, redesigns, adding things you've decided you want. Those are quoted separately, and plan holders get priority.

What it costs without a plan

Agencies publish these figures for maintaining a small app:

  • £3,000 to £10,000 per year, or £500 to £1,700 a month
  • Rule of thumb: 15 to 20% of what the app cost to build, every year

An emergency fix without a plan costs whatever the developer decides on the day, and you're negotiating while your app is down.

What happens when you call it in

First, the business keeps running. Before anything else, I put a fallback in place so you're not fully offline while the real fix happens. On a booking or marketplace app, every hour down is money.

Then the actual problem gets fixed. Not patched over.

Then you find out what caused it, so you're not paying for the same failure twice.

Who this is for

Most of the apps I look after are marketplaces, booking apps, and systems businesses run their day-to-day on. The kind where the app being down means the business stops earning.

180+ products delivered for clients in the US, UK and Australia. I've handled lost access, data loss, payment integrations failing, and app store removals. The pattern is always the same: the owner finds out from a customer, and by then it's already costing them.

Start with a free review

Before you pay for anything, find out what state your app is actually in.

You'll get, in writing:

  • How your app was built and what it depends on
  • What's broken now
  • What's likely to break next
  • Which plan, if any, you actually need

Free, no obligation. If the honest answer is you don't need this, I'll say so.

Questions

Do you cover apps you didn't build?

Yes. That's most of this.

What platforms?

Adalo, Bubble, Glide, Softr, FlutterFlow, AI-generated apps, and custom web apps.

I've lost access to my own app. Can you still help?

Yes, and it's common. Getting you back in control of your own accounts is usually the first thing we do.

What if nothing breaks all year?

Then you've paid for monitoring and someone on call. That's the point. Most years are quiet.

What if my app needs work before it's stable?

That's quoted after the review. The plan covers what happens after.

Am I locked in?

No. 30 days' notice.
